World of Sports Auction Friday, March 12
The City of Florence will hold an Auction on Friday, March 12, 2010
at 9:00 a.m. (viewing at 8:00 a.m.) at the World of Sports, 7400 Woodspoint Drive). Larry Burcham of Boone County will serve as the event’s auctioneer. Some of the discarded items will include 12 pool tables, 12 sets of pool balls, 12 pool table lights, 14 outdoor speakers, 5 cue racks, 3 reach-in refrigerators, freezer, nacho warmer, hot dog machine, slush puppy machine, ATM machine, large advertising display, television, bar stools, pool clock, computer and office equipment, furniture, and other miscellaneous items. Important Announcement The City of Florence is excited and proud to announce the start of construction at the World of Sports. A new clubhouse, driving range and miniature golf course are scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011. The new clubhouse will include a modern concession area, an indoor driving range, a private lesson room and a fully stocked golf-shop. The expanded driving range will for the first time offer a natural turf teeing area as well as covered artificial mats. A state-state-of-the-art miniature golf course will also be added. Construction is scheduled to begin in March. Due to construction the golf operations for the World of Sports will be moved just down street to 7330 Woodspoint Drive (The former BooneCountySeniorCenter building) beginning March 8. 2009 End of Summer Ladies Instructional Golf League at World of Sports Wednesdays August 26 - September 16 $68.00 per participant
The summer may be winding down, but the instruction at World of Sports is still in full swing!
The End of Summer Ladies Instructional League offers lady golfers the opportunity to participate in four 30-minute clinics with PGA Professional Ralph Landrum and to practice their techniques on the course with 9 holes of golf immediately following each session. The $68.00 fee includes both instruction and greens fees each week. Ladies may choose either a 5:30 or 6:00 clinic start time, and each session will be limited to 8 participants to provide individualized instruction. We hope to see you in the league!
The World of Sports will offer new and intermediate golfers the opportunity to Get Golf Ready in 5 Days under the instruction of PGA Certified Golf Professional Ralph Landrum on August 3, 4, 6, 17, & 18-for the affordable price of $99.
